2005年版外文（英文）期刊等级分类目录同时废止。
本期刊等级目录解释权和修订权属校科研处。

SCI：Science Citation Index（1975－）（科学引文索引，简称SCI）收录5，900多种科学技术期刊（光盘只收录3，700多种）
SSCI：Social Science Citation Index(1975－)（社会科学引文索引，简称SSCI）收录1，700余种社会科学期刊
A&HCI：Art & Humanities Citation Index (1975－)（艺术与人文科学索引，简称A&HCI）收录1，100余种艺术与人文类期刊
EI：The Engineering Index（工程索引，简称EI），主要收集工程和应用科学领域的文献，来自三千余种工程领域的期刊以及会议论文。
